AED Saves Life

I heard about AED or Automated External Defibrillator being recommended by Medical shows on TV as a life saving first aid device for people with cardiac arrest. This portable electronic device is easy to use and no special training is needed. A layman who knows CPR can operate AED and can save someone having cardiac arrest by following the instructions carefully. It automatically diagnose patients with potentially life threatening cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. Treatment is initiated through defibrillation which is the application of electrical therapy which stops the arrhythmia, allowing the heart to reestablish an effective rhythm.
